Why Albania? My interest began when my husband told me of a radio report about color, or the lack of it in Albania. The Communists had outlawed the wearing of color in order to keep the people oppressed. But as soon as the Communists were overthrown, out came colored clothing! I depicted the contrast with colorless figures at the bottom and brightly colored flowers.
